Formed in 2001, Abavuki is an eight-member Marimba band originally from Langa. The Xhosa name means ‘Wake up, early birds!’ a local saying very similar to the English phrase ‘The early bird catches the worm’ and it perfectly reflects their enthusiastic and active mood.
